Highly innovative, high-performance and customisable, these decorative metal surfaces can be tailored to the unique demands of your project. In this article, we explore the features, benefits and applications that make DECO PRIME® a game-changer in modern design.
What is DECO PRIME®?
Designed with versatility in mind, DECO PRIME® provides an exceptional balance of durability, efficiency and design freedom. The range is available in an extensive portfolio of customisation options, from matte, blur, and high gloss finishes to a range of textures and colours.
When ordering DECO PRIME®, surfaces can be supplied in coils or sheets. Coils are available in widths up to 1350 mm with no length restrictions, whereas sheets can be produced in lengths of over 3m with a thickness of 0.1 mm to 1.5 mm.
What are the key features?
When choosing the correct metal surface for your application, it’s important to explore the key traits of each option. DECO PRIME® offers an abundance of fantastic benefits, such as:
Ultra-thin surfaces available
One of our newest innovations is our DECO PRIME® Thin Foils, designed to be a soft touch, scratch resistant and anti-fingerprint, making them perfect for furniture and interior design. The options available in this range are the following:
- DECO PRIME® CLASSIC-L: Offers a metallic touch in a wide variety of coloured coatings.
- DECO PRIME® ADVANCED: Designed with a specialised UV lacquer to make it easy to clean.
- DECO PRIME® MAST: Matte, soft surface to add a velvety touch to your design.
Endless colour options
Our DECO PRIME® surfaces are available in standard colour variations or can be finished in a custom coating upon request. While the standard options include dark bronze, brass, light bronze, stainless steel, natural, silver and grey, our custom surfaces provide a near-infinite colour palette.
When choosing a custom colour, you will have the choice between anodising and lacquering. Our anodised surfaces involve integrating colour pigments during the anodising process to create a durable, stable colour surface without affecting the mechanical or chemical properties of the material. During lacquering, on the other hand, we utilise a specially designed opaque or translucent lacquer to add a layer of protection over the surface, ensuring that the colour stands the test of time.

Excellent surface adhesion
DECO PRIME® foils are designed with a pre-treatment that ensures maximum adhesion to many different base materials, such as ABS, PVC, and other plastics. Not only this, but we can also provide surfaces with a two-sided primer, which is ideal for HPL/CPL lamination or subsequent printing. During our initial conversation, we will always discuss your specific requirements to ensure your aluminium meets the unique specifications of your project.
Choice of many finishes
Along with a range of colours, the overall finish of your DECO PRIME® surface can also be customised. It is both flexible and bendable, allowing it to easily be warped around edges or shaped into hollows before being finished in a high-gloss, matte or brushed effect. If you would like to explore different options, we would happily send you a range of samples.
20-year guarantee as standard
Our support doesn’t end once we have supplied your DECO PRIME® surface. All our products designed for external applications come alongside a comprehensive guarantee as standard. This means that in the unlikely scenario that you experience any problems, we will rectify the issue at no additional cost.
What can decorative surfaces be used for?
Thanks to its lightweight, durable and aesthetic appeal, our DECO PRIME® range can be used across various industries. Here are some of the most common uses:
Architectural design: From wall panels and cladding to partitions and staircases, DECO PRIME® allows you to tailor the look of your surface while maintaining its material integrity, making it ideal for use across large architectural design installations.
Furniture and decor: As mentioned above, DECO PRIME® is an incredibly flexible material, meaning it can be wrapped, warped or bent to add finishing touches to cabinets, furniture, doors, shelves, appliances and much more.
Retail and hospitality: DECO PRIME® unlocks a wealth of new design opportunities for the retail and hospitality sector. Check out the Michael Kors flagship store in Shanghai, for example, which features thousands of hand-cut, mirror-finished DECO PRIME® aluminium reflectors.
Transport and automotive: Due to its robust nature, DECO PRIME® is regularly used for dashboard trims, door panels, seat accents and more. Not only this, but as the material is 100% recyclable, it helps manufacturers comply with stricter sustainability promises. Consumer products: Along with large-scale applications, DECO PRIME® is also an excellent choice for electronics and appliances. Casing for gadgets, laptops and speakers, along with exterior surfaces on fridges, ovens and washing machines, are just some popular examples.
